Who We Are
Al Malakia was founded in Sharjah in 2008 with a single, uncompromising purpose: to bring the finest handmade Iranian carpets to the UAE — pieces worthy of the homes they enter and the generations that will inherit them.
Every carpet in our collection is selected in person by our family. We travel to the historic weaving centres of Iran — Qum, Tabriz, Isfahan, Kashan, Nain — and partner directly with master weavers whose work carries centuries of inherited technique. No middlemen, no compromises, no mass production.
What you find on our showroom floor is not a product. It is a small piece of Persian cultural heritage, hand-knotted from pure silk or wool, waiting to find its home.
Our Journey
Three steps — and centuries of tradition — separate a tuft of raw silk in Qum from a finished masterpiece on your living-room floor in Dubai.
01 — OriginIn workshops passed down through generations, master weavers in Qum, Tabriz, Isfahan and Kashan hand-knot every carpet using pure silk and ethically sourced wool. A single piece can take between two and three years to complete.
02 — SelectionOur family travels to Iran in person — every season — to choose each carpet ourselves. We inspect the knot count, the dye, the symmetry, the soul of the piece. Only carpets that meet our standard make the journey home with us.
03 — HomeFrom our flagship showroom in Sharjah's Central Souq, our team helps you find the carpet that belongs in your space — with white-glove delivery, free hotel transport for visiting clients, and a lifetime of care advice from our family to yours.

The Art of Weaving
A Persian carpet is not woven — it is tied, knot by knot, by hand. A single square metre may contain over a million individual knots, each placed with a thread of pure silk or wool. There is no machine in the world that produces this.
The patterns are not printed; they are remembered. The dyes are not synthetic; they are pomegranate, walnut shell, indigo and saffron. The wool comes from sheep raised on highland pastures. The silk is drawn from cocoons by hand.
